Belly

Ok, so here is my belly at 11 weeks. Much bigger than it was with Sophia at 11 weeks. I guess that's just how it goes. Nothing really to report. I had my first real craving yesterday. Happened around 8:00 p.m. and I just had to have BBQ chips. Of course Chad wouldn't run out for me so I drug my little Sophie out and we went to Open Pantry. I ate pretty much the whole bag of the biggest bag I could buy.

All I want to do is eat. We just ordered pizza at work today. For 3 of us, I insisted we get an extra large. I can't wait til that sucker gets here.

Trick or Treat

Sophia went Trick or Treating for the first time ever. I am such a bad mother. Where we live, there is no trick or treating. The houses are too far away. Marsha convinced me to take her into Mt. Pleasant so we drove, parked and walked all over Mt. Pleasant. Sophia was pretty crabby. The little princess isn't use to working for her candy. She got annoyed because the girls were walking too fast and she couldn't keep up because she was trying to eat the candy as she got it. It was funny. She was exhausted by the end and Sarah ended up carrying her on her back on the way back to the car.

My pregnancy is going well. I was a little hormonal yesterday and poor Chad had to listen to me cry about how I feel he doesn't find me attractive anymore. I was nuts and it's done. My belly grows every day. It starts out relatively flat in the morning and as the day goes on gets bigger.
I am officially 11 weeks.

My First Dr. Appointment

I figure it would be really good for me to blog about my appointments so that can keep track of everything so it may be boring to read but good for me.

Anyway, I met with Dr. Clark today 10/17/08 at 1:00 p.m. in North Huntingdon. Let me first start by saying, I adore this man. He is such a wonderful doctor. I wish I could see him for every appointment but instead, I have to meet with all 4 of them. I obviously know Dr. P. because she delivered Sophie but the other 2, I have never met and have no desire to.

Anyway, he said my due date is officially May 16th. He said it is absolute because they did a sonogram so they will never change it. There is definately only 1 baby in there. He didn't do a pap or an exam. He didn't do the pap because my insurance won't pick it up until next month and no need for an exam since I had one at 5 weeks with Dr. P. for the bleeding.

He went over my history and informed me that because I had pre-term labor with Sophie, i have a 30% chance of having it with this baby. Not exactly something I wanted to hear. I have to go to McGee hospital in Pgh soon to talk with some docs there. Apparently, they need to evaluate me and there is a possibility that I will need progesterone injections 1x per week. He told me I am considered "high risk" so i need to take it easy. Easier said than done with an active 4 year old at home.

Anyway, that's that. Everything went well. They ordered a shitload of blood work. I need to get that done before my next appointment. I will hear the heartbeat next time!!

Til later

Week #9

Here I am at the beginning of week 9 and I feel great. I really can't complain. With the exception of having a crazy sense of smell, everything is fine. There is something in the kitchen here at work that really stinks. It has been making me nuts all day. It smells dead. It is very possible that it is simply just the stagnet air mixed with this stupid island breeze airfreshner in there but YUCK. Everyone thinks I am nuts because no one else can smell it. Ahh, the joy of pregnancy. I remember when I was very early with Sophia, Chad cleaned the floor with bleach and I about ripped his head off. It smelled so bad I wanted to kill him. Another time, he wore cologne to go to Walmart and I flipped. Ahhh, hormones.

Sophia has rolled straight into terrible 4s!!! She is making me nuts. She fights me on everything. Her clothes, her hair, her shoes... ahhhhhhhhhh. I thought this all started later in life. She is in a phase right now where she refuses to wear underwear. No, I am not kidding. She only wears about 3 pairs of her 5 million pairs of pants. They can't be too tight, too short, too long, too baggy. She has a complete meltdown over it. If her hair is even slightly in her eyes, she freaks. She is neurotic like her father.

I have my first dr. appointment with Dr. Clark on Friday. I am excited. I love him.

Life is getting better

Sophia was actually excited about going to school this morning!!! I almost fell over. I am so over the top thrilled with this. She loves her teachers and she told me she has 2 friends. One has long hair and another has hair like hers!! LOL. She doesn't know their names. When we walked in this morning, she ran over to this little girl and said "mommy, this is my friend". The teacher told mer her name is Celia. I am happy.

It's funny. Sophia loves school but never wants to talk about it. The only time she ever tells me anything about school is when we are in the car on our way there. I guess that is our new special time. it's nice.

The pregnancy is going well. I am a little over 7 weeks. My back no longer hurts but now my neck hurts. It's like the pain travelled up. I am thinking I am not sleeping right. Who knows
