Week 5

Here, I guess this is the start of week 5 of my pregnancy. Not sure how to judge it because I know EXACTLY when I got pregnant (August 23rd) but they judge it from your last period (August 11th) so I will just go with that.

I had some mild cramping yesterday with a little bit of a pink discharge. I was a little worried but the more I read, the more this seems normal.

My dad is still in the hospital. He is in a different unit where he is receiving PT. He is mad at my mom. He thinks she is keeping him there. He is a little out of his mind and driving everyone crazy

Sophie's First Day of Pre-School

Her first day of Pre-School was Wednesday, September 10, 2008. I, of course, had to take the day off so I could drop her off and pick her up. I was way more nervous than she was. We walked in, hung up her bookbag and she stepped into the lunchroom. The teacher sat her by another little girl and asked her if she wanted juice. She shook her head yes and I lost it. I walked out and cried. They made me leave because they didn't want her to see me cry.
I cried for an hour. I couldn't wait for 1:00. When i picked her up, she was sitting in a little circle reading with the kids. When she saw me, she came running, jumped into my arms crying. It was heartwrenching. The teacher said she had a good day so she didn't know why she was crying.
Today, Friday the 12th was her second day. She didn't seem quite as excited to go and when we walked in and I bent down to kiss her goodbye, she started crying and clung to me. It took me 5 minutes to calm her down. I finally left and cried the whole way to work.
I think this is going to be a little harder than we thought

The best surprises in life

This blogging crap makes me nuts.

I typed out a huge blog and it zapped on me.

Basically, I talked about my vacation. It was wonderful. We went to OC MD. We rented a condo at the Sea Watch (Room 205) Mike, Nicole, Colton and Riley went with us. It was a blast. We had a great week. The weather was perfect.

During the week, I was a little sick to my stomach. I had been on an antibiotic because of a nasty sinus infection I had all summer. I just figured it was the antibiotic. Then, while on the boardwalk, I had a bit of a nervous breakdown when Riley and Sophia wouldn’t listen to me. I pulled Sophia aside and screamed at her while a ton of people eyeballed me like I was the worst mother in the world. I lost it. I started crying and cried the whole way back to the condo.
The whole time, Mike kept telling me I was pregnant. I told him he was nuts. Quite a few times through the vacation, he kept saying “Karen’s pregnant”.

Back on August 23rd, my cousin Michael got married. After the wedding, we had some fun and we were not exactly careful. We actually discussed it and I told him that if we did it and I got pregnant, then it was meant to be. I didn’t think I was ovulating at the time so thought it was a moot point. Needless to say, we did.

When we got back from the beach, on September 6th, my period was due on Sunday… Sunday came and went.. Nothing. Monday, nothing. Nicole kept telling me to take a test.

Tuesday, the curiosity got the best of me. I bought a test at lunch time. Annoyed that I probably just wasted $10.00, I took it. I figured I would just watch it because I figured it was negative. I watched the negative line go across to the results window, then I saw a faint line coming down to the middle to make a perfect little plus sign!!

I was floored. I called Chad in total shock. He was shocked but happy.

So here we are. I know for a fact our baby was conceived on August 23rd and I am apx. 4 weeks pregnant!! YIPPY . Looks like we are adding on to the Gonofsky Family!! Let’s just pray there is only one in there LOL

Tennessee

I forgot to post about my trip to TN. Really, there is nothing much to blog about. We went, we came home. We went with my MIL, FIL and niece Krista. We rented a mini-van. We left Friday (June 13th) drove for 5 hours, got a room, drove 5 more hours and arrived at Uncle Charles' on Saturday, did nothing that day, went to eat on Sunday, went hiking in a forest that scared the living shit out of me (height) and Monday attempted to go boating, however Charles boat didn't work so we just swam in the lake all day and left to return home on Tuesday. It was uneventful and a total waste of a week's vacation but it made my in-laws happy that we went so that's all that matters. I got a Coach bag out of the deal so that made me happy.

Yesterday i was off (Tuesday). I got sunburnt and stung by a bee. Dawn came over with the kids around 10:30. We swam until 4:30, I went next door, swam some more, realized I was burnt, went over to my house to get another glass of wine and stepped on a bee. My whole entire leg swelled. It sucked.

Now I am at work. I should be working but I don't want to.

Here are some pics from TN

4th of July

We had a very nice 4th. I, of course, drank too many Sam Adams and had a pretty bad hangover on Saturday. Really sucky considering Chad had to work on Saturday so I was stuck cleaning up. I got lucky because Nicole and Lori really helped clean up that night. They put all the food and stuff away so at least I didn't have that to do.

Sophie is turning into a little girl. I didn't see her all day. She had all her little friends there. They played all day long. We had so much fun. Jen and John came with Jayli. She is so tiny. I think Jen is having a hard time adjusting to motherhood. It's tough. You never really know how much a child can change your life until you have one of your own. They are amazing but it really does change everything. She will adjust, I am sure. Mike and Gina came with Josephine and Wes. Boy are they cute kids. Josephine is so pretty. She has beautiful skin and gorgeous hair. Wes is adorable too!! He is getting so big. Dawn came with Carsyn and Luke. Luke wasn't feeling well so they couldn't stay long but Sophie got to play with her BF Carsyn. Lori and Scott came with Abigail and Jacob. I can't believe how big Abby has gotten. Boy is she a miracle baby. Born 3 months premature and in the hospital for 3 months at birth, she has really overcome some obstacles. She seems very healthy and happy. Marsha and Rich and their girls came, along with my mom, dad, Dave, Bonnie & Tiny, my in-laws and Joe, Jenny & Krista.

It was a good time. We played polish horseshoes (my fingers still hurt). At least I didn't take any shin shots this years. Everyone was pretty gentile. The only thing that sucks is I totally forgot to take pics. Oh well. I have been pretty bad at that lately. I am hoping to get a new video camera for my birthday. We will see.

I think I will go searching the internet for prices. TTYL

What goes around comes around

hmmm, so the other night, we were over Mike and Nicoles and I noticed that it was unusually warm when we left (we left their house around 9:00). Sophia falls asleep in her playroom and around 9:30, we hear this aweful noise. Wind and rain are beating on our livingroom window so bad. Chad runs into the breezeway and yells for me to come. The rain was blowing in a circle. It was crazy. It was raining SO hard and the wind was SO bad. I immediately freaked remembering the tornado I was in last December where a microburst ripped up our street and down Main. It tore roofs off, windows... It was the craziest 2 minutes of my life that day. All I could think of was, "oh shit, it's happening again". The weather was very warm and erie that day too.. Well, as fast as this one came, it quit. It knocked our power out but we had no major damage.

Yesterday, I was at my neighbors again for dinner and they told us that the one neighbor (we do not get along with this man for anything), his barn blew down. Apparently, there was a microburst and leveled his barn.

This man makes life miserable for us. He is a miserable human being.

I guess what goes around, comes around.

Give blood!

I bother to blog. No one is going to want to read my ramblings but that's ok. Wow, I wish we had blogging when I was in my early 20s and going out all the time. My life was like a huge soap opera. My life is so calm now, it's crazy. Most people who knew me in my early 20s probably wouldn't recognize me now.

Lets see, i donated blood today. I donate every 56 days. Everyone should. It's a great thing to do and makes me feel really good about myself for doing so. I am A negative so my blood type is somewhat rare. 7 years ago, I had my gall bladder removed and the quack who took it out knicked my colon. I was in ICU for a week and was given 2 units of blood. I am thankful someone donated.

My brother died in 2001. They gave him ALOT of blood while he was in the hospital. I feel I owe it back so that is another reason I donate.
